The 18th Hitchin Christmas Tree Festival

We’ve started planning for the 2014 Christmas Tree Festival, to be held in Holy Saviour Church over the weekend of 12th – 14th December 2014.  If you wish to enter a tree this year and would like to be sent further details, please contact Claire at ctf@holysaviourhitchin.org.uk or phone 01462 423734.

It’s worth applying promptly!  Last year, we were oversubscribed before the end of August and had to turn away some applicants.

More information about the Festival appears on the Christmas Tree Festival page.

The Teddy Bears Picnic

The Teddy Bears Picnic has been moved to a date in September as many of our children have another engagement on July 6th.

Beaver Colony and a Cub Pack

8th Hitchin (Oughton) Scout Group

We have recently started a Beaver Colony and a Cub Pack which meet at Oughton School.

We are looking for Wellies and Waterproofs for the Group so that we can take the Beavers and Cubs on outdoor adventures. If you have any old wellies or waterproofs that your children have grown out of that you could donate to the group, please contact Pippa (433575 or dcs.hitchinscouts@gmail.com) to arrange collection.

Many thanks. Pippa Lally (District Commissioner Hitchin Scouts).

Food Bank

Food Bank – many thanks to all those supporting this venture. When supplies are taken each week, the bank knows that they come from Holy Saviour and the managers are grateful. There are additions to the lists at the back of the church being for items which are in supply at present: – toothbrushes, tinned ham; tinned sponge puddings; cartons of orange juice; disposable nappies size 5; “stronger” carrier bags. Thank you again.
